SXU to hold H1N1 immunization clinic
Free and open to the public
Chicago (Nov. 13, 2009) A limited supply of H1N1 (swine) flu immunizations will be available to the public, including members of the Saint Xavier University community. The SXU Health Center will administer vaccinations from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Shannon Center on the University’s Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St. The Shannon Center is located on the west side of campus, best accessed from 103rd Street and Hamlin Avenue. Parking is available in Lot 1 west and south of the Center.
Vaccinations are free and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is necessary. The following high priority groups have been determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
•Health care and emergency medical service personnel
•Children and young adults ages six months through 24 years
•Persons aged 25-64 years who have medical conditions which put them at high risk for complications from influenza
•Household contacts and caregivers of children younger than six months of age
•Pregnant women
The immunization clinic opens to the public at 2 p.m. on November 18. No parking is available on campus prior to 2 p.m. without a valid university parking permit. University parking policy will be strictly enforced.
